The 20th Century saw the acceleration of fashion from the Belle Epoque, Hollywood glamour, wartime stringency and post war ‘New Look', and the youth movements of the 1960s through to the ‘avant-garde’ and broad availability of ‘looks’ today. Via an appreciation of clothing, paintings, images, movies and underlying material advances, this module aims to inform and inspire the student to research further into the rich history and material culture of clothing as a route to their understanding of styles, genres and marketing tropes.

The Fashion Illustration Module is an advanced fashion illustration course that will prepare students in the job of a fashion designer aiming to work in a Design Studio. Students are given drawing exercises and workshops to explore their imaginations and translating their inspiration and research into a clear and confident fashion illustration.
They work towards discovering and improving their own illustration style exploring different techniques and media. The skills and techniques in this module are a foundation on which the designer can build over the following years.

The technical drawing is complementary to the fashion figure drawing. It’s a vital tool for pattern making and it allows designers to define precise volumes, cuts and finishings. In this module students will learn how to draw precise and rigorous technical sketches of any kind of fashion product.

Color is a living language that reflects specific moods and emotions. In this module students will learn characteristics of colors, how colors are composed and how we use them in the fashion industry. Color Theory module aims to enhance students’ creativity and understanding of fashion design color stories - palettes. Students will gain practical knowledge through experimenting with hues, values, shades, contrasts, temperatures and saturations of colors, to find a perfect harmony for fashion collection.
