• This course is the continuation of Patternmaking Draping - Level A1. You will apply already learned rules of basic pattern making methodology to enhance your existing knowledge. Tutor-led demonstrations will provide the starting point from which to practice and develop your skills and aesthetic values.
• The focus of this module is on the kimono, including the raglan sleeve, all body band collar.
• This pattern will be used in the corresponding IFA production course.

This course is the continuation of production level A1. The students will apply the sewing techniques already learned and finishing methods to enhance your existing knowledge. Tutor-led demonstrations will provide the starting point from which to practice and develop your skills.
The First step for this module is to create the pattern. Students will learn two different techniques for pattern making: on a dress form through creative moulage technique and the second way is using formulas (with the student’s own measurements).
Next, students learn the step-by-step stages of tailoring a couture jacket using professional materials, as the tailor ham, hair canvas, fusing, shoulder pads and lining to complete a fully lined tailored jacket in cotton or cheviot/ wool fabric.
By the end of this module, the students will have their tailored jacket.
